Anthropic Claude Connector
Connect Claude to your Archbee organization so Claude can search, read and (if you allow it) write your documentation.
Before you start
- You need to be an Admin of the Archbee organization you want to connect.
- In Archbee, switch to that organization first. Claude gets access to the organization that is active when you approve, including all of its spaces.
Connect Claude
Automatic (Claude directory)
- Open claude.ai/directory/archbee and click Connect.
- You are sent to Archbee; sign in if asked.
- Review the permissions on the consent screen and click Authorize.
- Back in Claude, enable the Archbee connector in a chat and ask a question about your docs.
Manual
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- Enter a name (for example Archbee) and this URL:
- Leave OAuth Client ID and OAuth Client Secret empty. Claude registers itself automatically.
- Click Connect. You are sent to Archbee; sign in if asked.
- Review the permissions on the consent screen and click Authorize.
- Back in Claude, enable the Archbee connector in a chat and ask a question about your docs.
Already connected with the older URL ending in /sse? It still works, but we recommend switching to /mcp.
Permissions
Permission | What Claude can do |
|---|---|
Read your documentation | Search and read docs in every space of the organization |
Create, change and delete your documentation | Create and edit docs and spaces, and delete docs, spaces and space groups |
The consent screen shows exactly which permissions are being granted. Changes made through the connector appear in Archbee as made by the organization owner.
What Claude can use
Read
- search: semantic search across all your spaces
- fetch: open a doc by id as Markdown
- ls, cd, find, grep, cat: browse your docs like a folder tree, find pages by name, search for exact text and read pages
Write (needs the write permission)
- create_doc, update_doc: write docs in Markdown or MDX. In spaces with drafts enabled, updates go to the draft.
- create_doc_space, update_doc_space: create spaces and change hostname, space links and public access. Your plan's space limit applies.
- delete_doc, delete_doc_space, delete_space_group: permanently delete content.
Limitations
- Claude cannot create or edit docs in spaces that use Branches & Reviews yet. Reading works.
- Published versions and previews are read only.
Using another MCP client
Any MCP client that supports Streamable HTTP and OAuth can use the same URL. If your client takes a Bearer token instead, create an Organization API key in Settings → Organization API key (available on plans with API access) and send it as Authorization: Bearer <key>.
Troubleshooting
- "You must be an admin to authorize OAuth applications": ask an organization Admin to connect, or to make you an Admin.
- Claude sees the wrong organization: disconnect the connector in Claude, switch organization in Archbee, then connect again.
- "The write:docs scope is required": the connection was authorized as read only. Disconnect and connect again, approving write access.
